Online Master of Social Work (MSW)
One of the many benefits of earning a clinically focused Master of Social Work is the versatility that it offers. In addition to the skills required to become a mental health provider, it equips students with strong qualifications that translate well to many generalist roles and leadership positions within the scope of social work.
Social workers are in demand
A 2019 report from the CSWE cites that just over half of mental health services in the U.S. are provided by clinical social workers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of social workers is projected to grow 13 percent from 2019 to 2029, which is faster than the average of all occupations (4 percent). What’s more, Burning Glass Technologies reports that nearly 3 out of 4 job postings advertise that MSW is the preferred education level.
